To strengthen our team in Hallbergmoos, we are looking for an:

Internship or Master Thesis (m/f/d), - (for 6 months) in Prokaryotic Production

Your Tasks

  • Set up a process for site-specific biotinylation of proteins using sortase A
  • Optimize assay conditions for the sortase-based biotin labeling of antigens
  • Establish quality control assays and for labeling efficiency and protein quality
  • Production of recombinant Sortase A variants in E. coli and purification on Äkta FPLC systems
  • Finalize & optimize assays to characterize the enzymatic activity and purity of recombinantly produced sortase

Our Requirements

  • Enrolled in studies of Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Medicine, Life Science or related fields
  • Hands-on experience with plate-based assays and plate readers
  • Worked with enzymes and characterized enzymatic activity
  • Practical experience in recombinant protein expression (Ideally E. coli) and chromatographic purification and protein characterization (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, UV Abs)
  • Sufficiently good English communication skills
  • Routine use of windows and MS Office
